Labor Standards investigates wage complaints throughout Rhode Island, and compliance issues, such as child labor, minimum wage, overtime, sick/safe leave, Sunday/holiday premium pay, Parental and Family Medical Leave Act, Healthy and Safe Families and Workplaces Act, and industrial homework.

Labor Standards also oversees the hiring of minors and ensuring compliance of Rhode Island's wage and hour laws.
