Program Year 2007 and Program Year 2008
(July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2009)
Per guidance received from the US Dept. of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (ETA) in Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) #13-06 and #13-06, change 1, a modification to the existing State Plan was to be submitted to ETA by May 1, 2007. The modification covered program year 2007 and program year 2008.

Program Year 2009 (July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010)
Per guidance received from the ETA in TEGL #14-08, a request to extend the existing State Plan through June 30, 2010, was due to ETA by April 15, 2009. Documents associated with this extension request and the approval letter from ETA can be accessed by clicking here.
TEGL #14-08 also required that, due to the additional funds made available through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, a modification to the State Plan was submitted to the ETA by June 30, 2009. Program Year 2010 (July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011)
Per guidance received from the ETA in TEGL #21-09, the existing State Plan could be automatically extended through June 30, 2011 or a modification to the plan could be submitted to ETA. Rhode Island chose to have its plan extended. The letter from USDOL approving the extension can be accessed by clicking here (pdf).
On May 27, 2011, the RI Dept. of Labor and Training requested adjustments to the state’s performance goals for PY 2010. The request was made to realign the performance expectations with the changed economic environment in the state. The ETA concurred and approved adjusted standards. Program Year 2011 (July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012)
Per guidance received from the ETA in TEGL #17-10, States could request to have the existing State Plan extended or submit a modification. Rhode Island chose to extend the existing plan.
