Per guidance received from the US Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (ETA) in Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) #21-11, all states are required to submit a plan outlining the five-year strategy for its workforce investment system. Rhode Island has chosen to submit an Integrated Workforce Plan covering the following programs:
- The Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (Title 1)
- The Wagner-Peyser Act (including the Agricultural Outreach Plan)
- Plans for coordination with Trade Adjustment Assistance
- The Senior Community Service Employment Program
As they are drafted, documents related to the Integrated Workforce Plan will be posted to this web site in order to obtain input into the development of the plan. Comments from all interested parties (including local elected officials, local workforce boards, businesses, labor organizations, other primary stakeholders, National Farmworkers Jobs Program grantees, Migrant and Seasonal Farm Worker groups and the general public) are welcome. Comments regarding the Integrated Workforce Plan can be submitted to David Tremblay. Comments specific to the Agricultural Outreach Plan can be submitted to Connie Parks.
A 30 day public comment period regarding the Agricultural Outreach Plan will begin on August 17, 2012 and conclude on September 15, 2012. The plan can be accessed by clicking here. |
