Rhode Island Division of Workers' Compensation, part of the Department of Labor and Training (DLT), is located in the Senator John O. Pastore Complex at 1511 Pontiac Avenue in Cranston. The Pastore Complex is located between Pontiac Avenue and Oaklawn Avenue (Route 2), just south of Route 37. The Department of Correction and the Department of Mental Health, Retardation and Hospitals are also located at the Pastore Complex.
DLT is housed in an historic set of stone buildings called the Center General Complex. The buildings face Pontiac Avenue, but the main entrance and parking lots are in the rear.
From the east: follow interstate 95 north or south to route 37 west. Take the Pontiac Avenue exit. Bear left at the bottom of the exit onto Pontiac Avenue, heading south. Turn right at the third traffic signal onto Howard Avenue and into the Pastore complex. Turn right at the first stop sign at West Road. The Department of Labor and Training is the large stone and brick building on the right, behind the yellow Maintenance Building. Please use the main entrance in the center brick building.
From the west: follow interstate 295 north or south to route 37 east. Take the Oaklawn Avenue exit (route 2 south). At the first traffic signal, turn left into the complex onto Howard Avenue. At the first stop sign, turn left onto West Road. The Department of Labor and Training is the large stone and brick building on the right, behind the yellow Maintenance Building. Please use the main entrance in the center brick building.
The main entrance for the Department of Labor and Training is in building 73, which is the modern brick building in the middle of the Center General buildings complex.
From all points North - Take 95 South or 146 South: Take Route 95 South. (If coming from the northwest, take Route 146 instead of Route 95). From either 95 or 146, take the Branch Avenue exit #24. Turn Left onto Branch Avenue. Continue straight up Branch Avenue, crossing Charles Street, then the Route 95 highway overpass. When you reach the 5th set of traffic lights/major intersection, turn Left onto North Main Street. At the next set of traffic lights, turn Right onto Rochambeau Avenue. Continue straight up on Rochambeau, crossing numerous streets. A few blocks past Hope Street crossing Rochambeau, turn Right from Rochambeau Avenue onto Blackstone Boulevard. About 2 blocks down, take a Left onto Mount Avenue and make a U-Turn, crossing onto the opposite side of Blackstone Boulevard. The Donley Center is #249 Blackstone Boulevard.
From all points South - Take 95 North to the New “I-Way” Bridge East: Take exit #19 to the new “I-Way” Bridge and then take the Gano Street exit #3. Bottom of ramp, take a Left onto Gano Street. Proceed to the second set of lights, then take a Right onto Pitman Street. Take a Left at the next set of lights onto Butler Avenue. Butler Avenue will run into/change to Blackstone Boulevard. We are #249 Blackstone Boulevard, on your Right.
If going 95 South, then onto 195 East, the Gano Street exit is CLOSED, so take exit #2 to Wickenden Street. Take a Left at the light at the end of the exit ramp and stay on Wickenden Street until it connects with Gano Street. Then follow the same directions from Section A (as described immediately above).
Take 95 North: Stay on 95 North to Branch Avenue (exit #24). Take a Right onto Branch Avenue. At next set of lights, take a Left onto North Main Street. Turn Right onto Rochambeau Avenue (at the next set of lights). Continue straight up on Rochambeau, crossing numerous streets. A few blocks past Hope Street crossing Rochambeau, turn Right from Rochambeau Avenue onto Blackstone Boulevard.
