Affects of the 2013 Budget Sequestration

Due to the requirements of the Budget Control Act of 2011, many federally funded programs are subject to automatic reductions. Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) is one of the programs that will be affected.

If you file for or are currently receiving EUC please be advised that your weekly benefits and benefit entitlement will be reduced by 12.2 percent beginning with the week ending April 27, 2013. This reduction is mandated by the Federal Government and must be applied to all EUC claims.

There is no need to contact the department regarding these changes as they will automatically be applied to all EUC claimants. You will receive a recalculated EUC benefit rate and benefit entitlement in the mail.
