The netWORKri One-Stop Career Centers offer a variety of free online training resources for adult job seekers.

Prove It! is a collection of internet-based
occupational assessment
tests that help netWORKri One-
Stop Career Center staff to gauge
a job seeker’s proficiency in a particular
subject matter; it also offers
employers a powerful screening
and referral tool. Tests are available
in multiple languages and can
be accessed remotely through any
computer that has internet access.

ALISON is the world’s leading free
online learning resource for basic
and essential workplace skills.
ALISON provides high-quality,
engaging, interactive multimedia
courseware for certifi cation and
standards-based learning.
The mission of ALISON is to enable
anyone, anywhere, to educate
themselves for free via interactive,

Training Referrals

Unemployed and underemployed job seekers age 18 and over may qualify for up to $5,500 in free, short-term training through the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA).

More than 200 programs are available to Rhode Islanders in such career areas as bioscience, green construction, health care and technology. Participating educational institutions include Bryant University,CCRI, MTTI, New England Tech and URI, among others.

Adults interested in WIA training must first attend an orientation and then craft an individual education plan with a counselor.

NOTE: Dislocated workers whose company has been certified for Trade Adjustment Act (TAA) assistance may qualify for longer term training. Click here for a list of TAA-eligible companies.

If you are TAA-eligible and are interested in training, please call (401) 243-9166 to file a TRA-16 form. Once you have successfully filed, a netWORKri counselor will contact you for an appointment.
