Unemployment Rate Drops to 7.7 percent in July; Jobs up 1,200 from June - DLT announced today that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July 2014 dropped to 7.7 percent, down two-tenths of a percentage point from the June 2014 rate and down one and nine-tenths percentage points from the July 2013 rate. DLT Is Encouraging UI Claimants at 16-Week Mark of Claim to Visit netWORKri Centers to Find Work Faster - As part of its continuing effort to help unemployed Rhode Islanders find new work faster, the DLT announced today that has begun notifying beneficiaries of unemployment insurance (UI) who have been collecting payments for 16 weeks that they have 10 weeks or less of benefits before their claims expire. DLT Announces New Maximum Weekly Benefit Rates For Unemployment Insurance and Temporary Disability Insurance — Now Effective- RI Dept. of Labor and Training today is announcing that the maximum weekly benefit rate for Unemployment Insurance claimants for Fiscal Year 2015 remains unchanged from its FY 2014 rate — $566 per beneficiary and $707 for beneficiaries with five or more dependents, for at most 26 weeks of the July 1, 2014-June 30, 2015, benefit year.
