Parents have a greater
influence on the career decisions of their children than
teachers, counselors, or peers. The Career Anchor Parent
Guide was developed to provide parents with a "tool
kit" of materials to assist them in this task.
The Guide is organized
in three sections.
- Parent Resources
- contains information for parents on the labor market and
career exploration, and suggestions on how parents can assist
in the career development of their children.
- Parent & Student Career Tools -
provides quality, Rhode Island tools for parents to use with
their children.
- Parent & Student Activities -
includes a variety of activities which parents and children
may complete together.
New material will be added to
the Parent Guide from time to time as it becomes available. Much
of the material in the Guide was developed by the Minnesota
Career Resource Network and related agencies, and is used with
their permission and assistance.
