Prepares, analyzes and verifies financial reports.  Keeps, prepares and reviews client records, which detail all financial transactions.  May choose to concentrate on one area of practice such as auditing, taxation or management services.

Personal Requirements:

Education and Experience:  

One year of experience and minimum of 1,820 hours gained under the direct supervision of a current licensee and one hundred fifty (150) college semester hours of education, which Includes required accounting courses as outlined in the regulations.

CPA Examination: 4 section examination:  Auditing & Attestation (AUD), Business Environment & Concepts (BEC), Financial Accounting & Reporting (FAR) and Regulation (REG) 

Renewal: Triennial, three groupings based on alphabet. Must submit application fee of $375.00 and the required continuing professional education of 120 hours for the prior 3- year period or 40 hours per year for initial certifications.

Fees:
Fees are paid directly to NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy).  All first time candidates are required to pay both an Application fee and an examination fee. An application fee of $145 is required regardless of the number of sections for which the application is made.  This fee is not refundable.  Examination fee: AUD: $207.15; BEC: $185.10; FAR: $207.15;REG: $185.10. Applicants will be able to apply for one or more sections of the examination at a time.  Re-exam candidates are required to pay both an application fee and an examination fee.  An application fee is required regardless of the number of sections scheduled.  The application fees are: 4 sections, $110.00; 3 sections, $95.00; 2 sections, $80.00; 1 section, $65.00. Emergency Medical Technician

An emergency medical technician administers stabilization, transportation and medical care to sick or injured persons. All EMTs provide basic life support. The EMT-C is the primary provider of advanced life support in Rhode Island. The Paramedic has greater knowledge of life support and latitude to institute advanced life support.

Environmental Lead Inspector

Responsible for overall planning and implementation of environmental lead inspections in accordance with the Rhode Island Rules and Regulations for Lead Poisoning Prevention [R23-24.6-PB]. Land Surveyor

Professional land surveyor means a person who has been duly registered as a professional land surveyor by the board established under this chapter, and who is a professional specialist in the technique of measuring land, educated in the basic principles of mathematics, the related physical and applied sciences and the relevant requirements of law for adequate evidence and all to surveying of real property and engaged in the practice of land surveying as defined in RIGL 5-8.1-2(11). “Practice of land surveying” means any service or work, the adequate performance of which involves the application of special knowledge of the principles of mathematics, the related physical and applied sciences and the relevant requirements of law for adequate evidence to perform the act of measuring and locating lines, angles, elevations, natural and manmade features in the air, on the surface of the earth, within underground workings, and on the beds of bodies of water for the purpose of determining areas and volumes, for the monumenting of property boundaries and for the platting and layout of lands and their subdivisions, including the topography, alignment, and grades of streets and for the preparation of maps, record plats, field note records and property descriptions that represent these surveys.

Plans and designs the development of land areas such as residential and recreational areas, parks and public facilities. Strives to develop land areas that are attractive, functional and environmentally appropriate, analyzes the natural elements such as climate, drainage, soil and vegetation, and protects the public health, safety and welfare.

For purposes of this subsection, the term "Allied Professional" means an individual professional licensed as an architect, an engineer, or a land surveyor.

Lead-Safe Remodeler/Renovator

Responsible for performing lead hazard control activities in accordance with the Rhode Island Rules and Regulations for Lead Poisoning Prevention [R23-24.6-PB] and the EPA Renovate, Repair and Painting Final Rule that was effective as of April 22, 2010 for which Rhode Island has delegation. A lead safe remodeler/renovator is also responsible for direct on-site supervision of lead hazard control work in regulated facilities.
