Quarterly Census of Employment & Wages Program

The Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) program data is developed through a cooperative agreement between the Rhode Island Department of Labor & Training and the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. The QCEW program, formerly known as ES-202, provides monthly employment and quarterly wages by industry, location, and size of employer. The QCEW program derives its data from quarterly tax reports submitted by employers subject to Rhode Island's Unemployment Insurance law (i.e. Covered Employment). This information is supplemented with data collected from government agencies and businesses with multiple locations.
