Ocean State employers added 5,700 jobs (+1.2%) to the local economy between December 2005 and December 2006, according to new data released by the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training’s Labor Market Information unit. The state ended 2006 with an estimated 495,900 public and private sector jobs, the highest total on record (tied with November 2006).
