This sector comprises industries that provide transportation of passengers and cargo, scenic and sightseeing transportation, transportation support activities, and warehousing and storage for goods. Transportation may be provided by air, rail, road, water, or pipeline. Ninety-eight percent of the Rhode Island employment classified in the Transportation & Warehousing sector was previously classified in the Transportation, Communications and Public Utilities division under SIC. A small portion of the sector employment is from the Services division (2%). |
