Vocational
rehabilitation can mean a variety of things. It might mean that your
employer makes a minor change in your job situation so that you can
return to work in spite of some continuing disability. It might mean
that a vocational rehabilitation counselor will work with the employer
to aid in a return to work for you at the same job or a similar job
with the same employer. If it is not possible for you to return to
work with your former employer, the vocational rehabilitation counselor
may help you find suitable employment or, if indicated, locate training
opportunities.
Vocational
services may include
vocational evaluations, aptitude and interest testing, GED test preparation,
and informative workshops.
The
Rhode Island Workers Compensation Law provides for vocational
restorative and re-employment services for workers who were injured
on the job.
