Looking
Upwards, Inc., a non-profit agency that assists adults with developmental
disabilities and children with diverse needs to live more fulfilling
lives, has partnered with netWORKri, a division of the Rhode Island
Department of Labor and Training, to recruit more staff. Full- and part-time
positions are available.
A job recruitment to fill at least 15 vacancies will be held Wednesday,
November 28th at the Wakefield netWORKri Center at 4808 Tower Hill Road
from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Positions are available to work with children
and youths in after-school and weekend Home Based Therapeutic services
and during school hours in the School Inclusion program. Job opportunities
are also available to work with adults in residential services. Adult
positions start at $10.48 per hour and children's positions are often
part-time and start at $14 per hour. Full-time employees are offered
a generous benefits package. Looking Upwards provides comprehensive
staff training and career development opportunities. Applicants must
be at least 19, have a valid drivers' license with a good driving record,
and a high school diploma or GED. Those attending the recruitment on
Wednesday should dress for a formal interview and bring a résumé.

with the people participating in services to make sure everyone is successful,"
noted Eileen Echevarria, Recruitment and Personnel Coordinator. Looking
Upwards provides long-term support for 122 adults and annually serves
187 children and youths.
The Department of Labor and Training's netWORKri centers offer a wide
array of employment and training services, and will customize recruitments,
screen and interview applicants for any employer at no charge. The Employer
Service Representatives at each netWORKri center will meet one-on-one
with employers to provide information on grants or tax credits to train
their existing workforce or how to best fill vacancies. NetWORKri is
ready to assist anyone, whether the goal is a first job, a better job
