Job Fair Honoring Veterans on Wednesday, Nov. 10

WARWICK: More than a dozen Rhode Island businesses will be recruiting for employees at a Job Fair Honoring Veterans, held on November 10, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the US Army National Guard Armory, 541 Airport Road, Warwick, RI. The job fair, organized jointly by the American Red Cross, Military Family Programs, RI National Guard Recruiting, and the RI Department of Labor and Training and the netWORKri one-stop career system, is free and open to the general public.

Employers scheduled to attend include: Aflac, Amica Insurance, Aspen Aerogels, Brown University, CoWorx Staffing Service, Cox Communications, Electric Boat, G4S Secure Solutions, Gem Plumbing and Heating, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Navy Exchange Newport, Pioneer Financial Group, RI Bureau of Investigation, RI National Guard, Strategic Employee Benefits Services, Tasca and Walco Electric.

Education and training providers will also be available to answer questions about available programs. These include Building Futures/Providence Plan, Helmets to Hard Hats, New England Institute of Technology, New England Tractor Trailer Training School, Providence College School of Continuing Education, Rhode Island Student Loan Authority, Society of Human Resource Management/RI, Trades Training Center of RI, University of Phoenix, University of Rhode Island and Walden University.

Representatives from such veterans’ service organization as the Veterans Administration are also expected to attend.
