PAWTUCKET -– The
Pawtucket netWORKri Career Center will host a half-day seminar – It’s a Woman’s
World! – Thursday, October 14, 2004 from 8:15 AM to 2:00 PM at 175 Main
Street, Pawtucket. This free seminar encourages women to evaluate all areas
of their lives, including education, employment, health, and housing, and will
be led by keynote speakers “Dr. Day Care” Mary Ann Shallcross Smith Ed.D. and
mortgage consultant Lori A. Grover.
The Pawtucket netWORKri Career Center is proud to offer It’s a Woman’s World!,
an exciting, empowering event with several breakout sessions on women’s issues
including exploring non-traditional career opportunities, how to start a business,
and home ownership. Celebrating the complexity of women’s lives, other discussions
will include improving time management, health screenings, improved organization,
and information on domestic violence.
The public is welcome to attend the free seminar, but seating is limited. Ensure

Rhode Island boasts six federally funded netWORKri Centers, each offering a
wide array of employment and training services, including job referral, peer
support groups, aptitude testing for job seekers, recruitment assistance, tax
credits, industry trend and labor market data for employers, all at no charge
to the customer.
Job seekers can access personal computers, the Internet, telephone, fax and
copy machines to help in their job search. netWORKri is ready to assist any
job seeker, whether the goal is a first job, a better job, or a career change.

or secure training grants. “We are ready to help,” said Kathleen Partington
who oversees the Centers, “netWORKri is a valuable resource for those looking
