Unemployment Insurance Call Center resumes Thursday call-in hours

With 28 additional staff members available for claims-processing, the Unemployment Insurance Call Center at the RI Department of Labor and Training will resume regular Thursday call-in hours beginning May 27, 2010. Beginning last winter, the call center had closed its lines to the public on Thursdays in order to focus on processing an influx of online claims in its regular unemployment, State Extended Benefits and Federal Unemployment Emergency Compensation programs.

The Unemployment Insurance Call Center may now be reached at (401) 243-9100 during the following hours:

*           Mondays and Tuesdays, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
*           Wednesdays, 8:00 a.m. to noon
*           Thursdays, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
*           Fridays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Queries to the call center may also be made via email at uihelp@dlt.ri.gov.

Those wishing to file an unemployment insurance claim may do so by telephone during call center hours, or by Internet any time at www.dlt.ri.gov.
