Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training and the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation, in conjunction with local chambers of commerce and the Small Business Administration, is holding a series of Rapid Response sessions for area businesses impacted by the recent flooding. Sessions are free of charge, and businesses do not need to be members of their chamber of commerce in order to attend.

These sessions will explain how employers may become eligible for businesses unemployment insurance relief and unemployment insurance waiting period waivers for their employees. They will also learn about loans available through the Economic Development Corporation and other resources available through the Small Business Administration.

The Rapid Response Team is in discussions with other chambers to hold additional sessions throughout the state. These will be made public as soon as they are confirmed.
