Free small business workshop on advantages of employee retirement plans

The RI Department of Labor and Training (DLT), in conjunction with the US Department of Labor and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), will host a free employer workshop on the benefits of instituting an employee retirement plan. The workshop will be held at DLT’s Cranston location, 1511 Pontiac Avenue, on Wednesday, September 12 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Advance registration is required by calling 1-888-616-JOBS or registering online at www.dlt.ri.gov.

The “Choosing a Retirement Solution for Your Small Business” workshop is part of an ongoing employer education series offered by the RI Department of Labor and Training. Step-by-step guides to establishing a retirement savings plan and advantages such as tax credits and employee retention will be reviewed.

The RI Department of Labor and Training Business Workforce Center offers free walk-in services for employers in the areas of job-matching, recruitment, training and transition assistance. The Business Workforce Center is one component of the department’s comprehensive workforce development services, which include netWORKri one-stop career centers, the EmployRI.org online career center, the YouthWORKS411 workforce system, Veterans’ services, and the State Workforce Investment Office.
