Job Fair for West Valley Inn Employees Postponed

August 23, 2016

CRANSTON, RI —While it continues to look for a buyer, the West Valley Inn has asked the Department of Labor and Training (DLT) to postpone a job fair for affected workers that had been scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, August 24, at the Providence/Cranston netWORKri One-Stop Career Center. DLT will provide an event update as soon as details are available.

At the restaurant’s request, DLT conducted a Rapid Response orientation session last week to help both the employer and employees prepare for the looming transition. DLT is ready to help any workers who are laid off with career counseling, résumé, job search, and interviewing tips, and information about possible training opportunities. As always, DLT offers these and other re-employment services at our four netWORKri One-Stop Career Centers located in Providence/Cranston, Wakefield, West Warwick, and Woonsocket.

ABOUT DLT: The RI Department of Labor and Training offers employment services, educational services and economic opportunities to both individuals and employers. DLT protects Rhode Island’s workforce by enforcing labor laws, prevailing wage rates and workplace health and safety standards. The department also provides temporary income support to unemployed and temporarily disabled workers. For more information, please call the RI Department of Labor and Training at (401) 462-8000 or visit the web site at www.dlt.ri.gov
